01 / Flexibility
Make room for your own rhythm
Compared with a weeks-based usage arrangement, a whole residence can offer greater flexibility over your stays and living spaces. That control remains subject to the property’s legal structure, contracts and condominium rules.
02 / Continuity
Build a tradition beyond the trip
Privacy, familiarity and a gathering place for family are benefits worth considering on their own. Rental use depends on applicable rules and agreements. Neither rental income nor future appreciation is guaranteed.
03 / Legal clarity
The structure matters
For foreign buyers, Mexico’s restricted zone extends 50 kilometers inland from the coast and 100 kilometers from its borders. The SRE describes residential bank trusts with terms of up to 50 years. The marketing phrase full ownership does not automatically mean direct title in a foreign individual’s name.
04 / Make it practical
Start with a complete ownership budget
Separate purchase and closing expenses from ongoing costs. Request current condominium fees, insurance information and a maintenance plan, then allow for periods when the home is unoccupied. If rental use matters, check the applicable rules and management agreement before including projected income in your budget.
